My Comical Sweetie Pie

Just have to share one of my favorite photos of my comediene goat.  She is just a hoot to be around and this is what makes homesteading so endearing to my heart.  I hope I never lose the ability to have my 'friends' on the farm.

She was trying her best to give me a smooch!

Wow How Time Flies!!

I'm so busy here lately I feel as if I'm meeting myself coming back!  Homesteading is a full time job, but then add homebased primitives business, plus all day Thursdays doing nursing home programs and choir directing... it makes for one tired but happy campers (not that I've been camping for a year or so!). I'm offering my prim patterns on patternmart.com now and will be working full time getting my designs made and into pattern form as well as keeping up with orders, auctions, and church activities.  Maybe all this work will make me feel young again.  Hey! It could happen! LOL

I'm expecting the best looking kids being born just any time now from our Mini Nubian and Nigerian goats.  Milking will be added to the list of chores as well as making goat milk soap, cheese, and other goodies that are rewards from raising and milking goats. Plus, don't forget the baby goat kisses!!

I've got three new doll designs to finish up this week so I'd better get my Yankee Doodle Dandy face on but do it Texas style. :>)))  I'll post the new designs as soon as I finish them so Stay Tuned.

YeeHaa!

Here we go into a new year and I'm so far behind, but looking forward.  No use peaking over my shoulder wondering IF, instead I am excited about what this new year will bring.  Reidel and I are making several additions to the primitive line of offerings we will be putting on eBay. Plus, I've gone back into my primitive doll making creativity.  I figure if I'm inside due to weather or health issues, why not be creative anyway, so the dolls are a good way to spend quality time with my primitives. 

This month I offered Valhalla Beth the Valentine Doll on eBay and she sold!  I was so excited to see my first offering finding a good home.

I'm working now on 4 dolls at the same time!  Got a bowl full of bunnies listed and they are super primitive.

Will be listing a Valentine Kitty tonight or tomorrow.  I'm having so much fun with the fabric that I'm sore pressed to get the other prims finished.  As long and the tea, coffee, and peanut butter crackers hold out so will I. lol  

Stay tuned because there's no telling what I'll come up with next... hummm, I don't even know that!!! shhhh... I do know that one of the offerings involves an old rusty tin can... that's all I'm saying. 

Hang Your Hat on Our Star!

It's a simple cowboy phrase, but to us it means, take a chance on following us thru our journey and take a look at our western primitive offerings. We'd love to have you join us!

Barefoot Creek Primitives is a offspring of Tallowberry Creek Prims.  My husband, Reidel, and I, Wanda, have been designing and crafting primitives for over 25yrs, but decided last year to go into western since we live here in Texas where cowboys run rampant. :>) Truth be known, we love western because it's after all a form of primitive.  We were trying to decide on a name when Reidel said something about him running barefoot thru the woods in the back of his home during his childhood,  playing in the creek, and it was a good time in his life.  We were discussing this on a trip to Waco. Then out of the blue, we pass a ranch named 'Barefoot Creek' and as they say, the rest is history.  You know... it was one of those light bulb moments.

We are just now getting our website working and starting this blog, but we've been offering western and prim things on ebay and etsy.  Since Reidel is retired now, we are having the time of our lives doing what we love and then loving those day when we don't want to really do anything.  This is and will be the best times of our lives, I can just feel it!

Savor the tender moments, because they pass so soon.
Tell each other I love you way before noon!
After noon, ponder on what comes in the evening
Whether together or apart,
You'll know you started your day knowing 
The tenderness of your sweetheart.
